We picked Enid partly for the Sardis Lake Marina pontoons — and then Sardis posted "Boat Rentals Are Closed for the 2026 Season." Grenada Lake Boat Rentals bills itself as the only rental outfit on Grenada Lake, a 35,000-acre crappie lake one reservoir south. Their rate card shows a Landau Legacy pontoon at $350 a day and an Alumacraft center-console fishing boat at $250. It's a small fleet, so this is the first phone call to make.
Treetop Adventure: rope ladders, Tarzan swings and ziplines through the canopy over Shelby Farms' lakes, self-paced after a 30-minute safety briefing. There is no zipline anywhere in north Mississippi, so this is it.
Mizzou's first trip to Oxford since 2013, on the one Saturday we're in town. The Grove — ten acres of tents, chandeliers and fried chicken under the oaks — is the most famous tailgate in college football, and you don't need a ticket to walk it.
